Double Braid

Even as a cosmetologist I sometimes wake up in the morning and do not feel like doing my hair.  On those days kind of days, I LOVE throwing my hair in a braid. Braids are a great and quick way for me to dress up my hair so I don't end up going to work looking like a hobo hairdresser.

Crown Braid

I am totally and completely in love with this crown braid !! Here in Utah it is pretty chilly. With this style I can still wear my hair down and also keep it out of my face! I love having the best of both worlds.

Ok, so I am sorry about the lighting. I know it is a little dark.

 Backcombing 101

Alright my friends, I finally did it!!!! I made a backcombing vs ratting video! Sorry it took almost a year to make.

This video tutorial will show you the correct way to backcomb. Now when I talked about backcombing vs. ratting in my previous post, I got a lot of grief. Lots of people were saying they are the same thing. So I am just going to say, you can call it teasing, ratting. poofing, or backcombing. I just wanted to show that there is a correct way and an incorrect way.

  1. People are sensative. No one likes to be told they are stupid, or even ignorant. When you make the comment, 'It's amazing how many girls dont know how to do this!', even though I'm sure it's well intentioned, it can come across the wrong way. Especially when people are reading the comment and can't hear the tone in your voice. It's always a good idea to read your comments before publishing them, and edit out anything that could be taken the wrong way. The idea is to teach your readers by sharing your knowledge, not to scold them for not already knowing what you know. Just some food for thought.

    1. to Susan,

Jade did not say anything insensitive in anything she said but the way your reply is worded is very insensitive, Jade is giving her skill and time to help others, if the only comments you have are negative then they are not wanted.

      Regards Poppy Ann.

  2. @ susan mullens. You are the sensitive one. Don't hide behind the word "people" like you have any right talking for them. There was nothing impolite about this post. In the future try putting on your big girl panties before making as ass out of yourself.

  5. Hi Jade this is a great video how you manage to part your hair with such straight lines is amazing I have trouble just trying to get one parting straight down the middle straight without bits from both sides getting mixed up.

    many thanks for your work.

    Regards Poppy Ann.
